Top Ten Albums of 2014

1. Real Estate Atlas

Real Estate’s Atlas provides a refreshing reminder that sincerity and simplicity, as a combination, go a long way. The importance of Atlas is not in comparison to Real Estate’s previous works but more of a contrast to the modern standard of unfinished or half-finished albums. Atlas is an unskippable twelve tracks of overlapping guitar melodies and vocal fortitude. Lyrically, Real Estate sets the stage for early onset mid-life crisis as the listener is forced to cope with unexpected life decisions with underdeveloped experience. The guitar rock that inspired flocks of 90’s adolescents may not be back but Atlas is true to form and makes us feel whole again. – Rob Leonard
