Musical Education is Important for Early Development

Musical Programs in schools across the nation have been in jeopardy for some time now.  Scientists are striving to show administrators the benefits of having these programs available for students. Showing that even playing an instrument can significantly enhance the brain’s sensitivity to speech.  Neuroscientist, Professor Nina Kraus is on a team studying at Northwestern University in Chicago and stated, “Playing music engages the ability to extract relevant patterns, such as the sound of one’s own instrument, harmonies and rhythms, from the ‘soundscape.” Read further here.
